Rudy Giuliani...I think what you see in Giuliani is what you get. That is part of the problem...He is a social liberal and no matter how many time he tells us he will only...
[fill in the blank]...I think it is hard for a lepord to change his spots.

I grant him the honesty fact on this. He has not tried to hide any of it. I think he would make a better VP than POTUS. He can attack and attack and attack.

I don't have a problem with Rudy at all. He's a social liberal Republican that has stated that he would not challenge the views of the conservative base. I'm a social moderate that believes in the base tenets of the Republican party even though I disagree with many of their beliefs. If the hard core conservatives and religious right want to stay home because of Rudy's personal beliefs rather than vote for him for his political savvy, so be it. Let them live with the consequences.

I have no problem at this time with Rudy being a social liberal. He will get some Democratic votes that way. Our country is in such a mess over how the DNC and the MSM have polarized us to think that Jihadist's are good and George W. Bush is evil that the key is going to be to win the White House with somebody like Rudy that can play the game but veto the lefty's in congress. I personally think Newt is the smartest, but he has as many negatives or more than Hillary.

The Clinton Machine

The Clinton Machine will rip into Rudy. Hillary gets to play the victum of a husband's infidelity one more time and all the women that wanted to hate Bill, but couldn't will unload on Rudy. That sympathy votes will be worth 2-3 points...enough to make Hillary president.

Newt has the same problem. A messy divorce and a new affair. It is not the social conservatives that we have to worry about but the hipocrisy of the Dems.

This is not a problem for McCain, Romney or F Thompson.

People are getting to know the real Hillary, now that they see her on the campaign trail, and they see what a phony she is. Alot of people didn't see that when she was in the White House. They didn't know the real Hillary. I don't think sympathy will work for her anymore. I think Rudy can win over some blue states for the Republicans. He is ahead of Hillary in New Jersey and is narrowing the gap in New York. Also, I'm beginning to feel more and more that Hillary won't be the nominee anyway.

We want Hillary to be the nominee! Indeed, I think we need Hillary. Especially if Rudy is the nominee. She scares people.

As too bringing over Blue States...I believe that is why Rudy would make a good VP. Rudy at the head of the ticket runs the risk of loosing Red States. He is vulnerable on all issues but one. Leadership during 9/11. Besides, he does not do as well if the opponent is Obama or Gore.

Most resent poll shows that the GOP base by 65% want someone other than Rudy, Mitt or John. That is a VERY dangerous number. We run the risk of the base staying home, like they did in '06.
