| | | Nader 2008. Please keep me informed. Would Nader v.s. Hillary be the most explosive independent candiate to put forward into this race?
Please post any news you may find about Nader's run in this topic thread. I'm considering the value of this strategy.
1. Vote against Hillary in the Democratic Primary
2. Give my money to Nader 2008
3. Vote Republican in the general election.
If history shows me what to expect, the nominations will be cornered before my state votes in the primary. Democrats will sue Nader off the ballot or hire a hit man to assassinate him. Finally, Republicans don't need my money. Maybe I'll buy a yard sign or bumper sticker, but I think half a billion dollars is plenty for them to work with in this election. Independents need my money more than the 2 major parties need it.

| | | Hm, do you think I should add a Nader forum in here and put this post in there? What is he saying lately? Think he will try again?

| | | Don't forget that Bill Clinton and Al Gore debated Ross Perot. How will Hillary wiggle her way out of the debates with Nader? Hillary is a monster born out of the Reform Party's creation. She'd be lesser known than Kitty Dukakis if Ross Perot didn't run or if September 11th happened 10 years earlier.

| | | Well, that's a GREAT thing to hear...if Hillary wins the nomination (and most likely she will), I PRAY that Nader takes her needed votes...no matter the Republican nominee.
Very good point, IF Perot didn't run, Bill Clinton would not even be a thought in our minds right now...Bill Clinton TRULY deserves his name: "Slick-Willy" to be sure. He is one of the luckiest people EVER to walk the face of the Earth. Sad truth is, Hillary may be the second luckiest...

| | | Also, Perot had strong appeal with the "Greatest Generation", those who survived World War 2 and the Great Depression. I was watching when Perot made Jim Lehrer break down in tears on the PBS Newshour. When I used to go to the Untied We Stand America meetings, it was a bunch of pissed off retired citizens who mostly used the time to b*tch.
After September 11th, I don't see how the Reform Party would have ever gotten off the ground in today's context. Bush would have been re-elected in a landslide.
I say, if independent voters can be used at Clinton's calculated benefit in 1992, then Hillary has something to answer for in 2008... and Nader isn't very happy with the Democratic Party after 2004! He is seriously pissed off!

| Good point! In others words...what's good for the goose is good for the gander, LOL. Wouldn't that be ironic. I bet nothing could make Hillary more mad than Nader taking her votes and denying her her cradle-time dream. If Nader could send her back up to the idiots who elected her in New York, I would (no, I won't be ashamed) shed literal tears of joy. My heart would pitter-patter and my toes would flitter, LOL. It would be the greatest day of my life, to see Hillary (and Bill) FINALLY get some of what they have dished out...

I have pointed this out before at this site, but I think before PerotWCheney joined. I have an audiotape in which one of the Arkansas troopers said that just before Perot entered the race in 1992, there were lots of phone calls between Perot and Clinton. After Perot quit the race, the phone calls started up again and Perot rejoined the race. |

I want to take it back to the Reform Party website and give them another reason to hate me.

But that would be a drain on the resources and Democrats will end up with a couple million less left over after the election.
Nader squashing would also defeat the motivation of independents and the blood will be on the Democrats' hands again. There are way more Republican leaning independents than there are Democrat leaning independents. This is a no-win situation for Hillary and the DNC spin will be fascinating to watch unfold. James Carville is already working on it. I think Rush is right, the Democrat Party is a dying party. This is the vulnerability that will make it happen, and I bet it is in a Republican war-room, somewhere.
