Nader's back in it

It was our meddling foreign policy that led to the blow up of our embassies, ships, and other interests in the first place. The war monger McCain will continue these meddling policies and continue to promote more hatred towards America. I believe in the foreign policy of our founding fathers who believed in animosity towards none and good trading relations with all.

We pay taxes for our government to defend us, not to act as policeman of the world. McCain has the attitude as Commander in Chief that he has the authority to start up wars anywhere he likes without Congressional approval inspite of the fact that the Constitution states that only Congress can declare war. Our founding fathers intended for not one person to have war making ablilities.

It's obvious, however, that McCain cares nothing for the Constitution. His McCain/Feingold his a violation of the 1st Amendment's guarantee of free speach.

The only MSM that I listen to is the pro-war Fox and Tucker, so I don't get my views from the other networks. I havn't watched these other networks since 1968. I was once a Republican hawk myself, but changed my views after reading libertarian works on defense policy.

The situation was different when Reagan was President. We were in the Cold War. One thing that is upsetting to me is that we have not been allowed to enjoy the peace since the end of the Cold War. It seems as if we had to seek out new enemies to justify expenditures to prop up the military industrial complex.

I think the government is protecting us. Reagan made the mistake of pulling out of Lebanon when the marine barracks was bombed but he was busy ending the Cold War at the time. We have been continually tested ever since. Saddam Hussein tried to take over Kuwait and claim their oil fields and was beaten back by Bush Sr. and the world took note.

The World Trade Center was bombed during Clintons first year and he did nothing. The result was terror attacks against U.S. interest around the world which culminated with the Trade Center attacks in the first year of W's presidency. Bush responded promptly and properly.

No American interests have been attacked since. Saddam Hussein needed to be taken out for thumbing his nose at the United Nation and the U.S. for so long. What good is the rule of law if nobody enforces it? And before you go there, Saddam Hussein himself insisted that he had WMD almost 'til the end.

Talk show host Rusty Humphries predicts that the next president will also be tested in his or her first year to see if we've elected another Bill Clinton or another George Bush, and I tend to agree with him. They could be lying in wait right now. I hope our next president isn't more concerned about our image then our welfare.

I am seriously worried about this country. Now we have whales, in the Pacific, stopping the Navy from using sonar to detect subs off our coast! A dammned Judge overrode the President of the US! Now, all Iran has to do is send a sub over here, undetected, and launch a nuke...SHEESH! WTF is wrong with America these days? I feel we are FAR from secure...our policies are getting worse and worse now. Sigh...I have a feeling we are, indeed, falling and it will make Rome look like a joke.

I don't think Iran would ever nuke America. It would be suicide with our ability to retaliate. Rome fell because they overextended themselves, something that we are presently doing by trying to be the world policeman.

They attack us because of our meddling foreign policy, not because they're jealous of us. Two Zogby polls taken this decade in the Middle East have shown that the people over there admire us for our freedom and success, but dislike us because of our meddling over there.

They like us for our success and freedom but hate us because we want to bring the same thing to them? And then you believe Iran is rational?

The people would like to have our freedom and success, it's the oppresive leaders who want all the power for themselves who won't allow a free enterprise system and a system of individual rights.

As far as not like us for meddling in their affairs, imagine what we would think if a super power were to meddle with our soverignty. The Constitution just doesn't give us authority to meddle in the affairs of other countries.
