:)
I am concerned about the 'woman vote.' Not those who are aware of the issues, but those who are un-informed and vote just because she is a 'woman!' I have NO problem with a woman in a leadership role, but NOT her!!! Pick another woman to run..

Agreed, she simply may just have a chance to get in due to what you just stated...its sad, and deeply disturbing. We've got to make sure we get together against Hillary before it IS too late!

Please tell me; why not Hillary? What is it about her that you don't like? I do like her! I think that it is silly to think that just because she is a woman that other women will vote for her based on that, alone. Are you implying that women are not educated on the issues? Again, if you want to talk abou the issues- bring it on. You might learn something. Should I assume( by your formula) that many men voted for Bush, because he was a war hungry man, and that they were uneducated on the issues?

In response to your question, I didn't write the original to which you responded. I don't think women in general are irresponsible and would vote for Hillary just because she is a "woman". That being said, she is counting on a "get out the vote" of 10,000,000 that have never voted before who would likely vote for her. What don't I like about Hillary, there really isn't enough room to cover it all. Basically she is a Marxist, "I want the profits of the oil companies", she would destroy our Health Care System, and basically if you have followed all her nonsense from Bill's first term she is an evil woman that will and would do anything to become your president. I'd vote for a woman in a heart beat if she had principles that I agreed with. So please tell this forum, why do you like Hillary?

How am I suppose to take your argument against Hillary seriously when you call her a Marxist? Come on- you know that is not true. Name calling never wins a debate. If you have issues about what she has done, then I am ready to hear them, but you can't tell me what she will do, you can't know that. That is your fear talking- what are you afraid of, what are your real issues?

I like her for a number of reasons. I do think that she has good ideas that are much needed for our country. For one, I liked her idea of a national health care plan, and I think it is much more needed today than in 1992. She is strong on education, and as a mother and educator, I think that we need to improve our public schools."No Child Left Behind" is a wreck and it has left our schools broken. Not everyone can afford a private education. I don't know, maybe these issues are not important to you, but they are very important to me. The children are our future, and that means every child regardless of where they come from, or who they are. Everyone deserves the same rights. It is so unfair how the corporate world has taken over this country. We need that to stop. Those executives do not work any harder than anyone else to deserve million dollar salaries and bonuses. We both know it's the people underneath them that do all the work. The pay scale in this country is asinine! Tell me, why is okay for a top executive to bring in a six figure income, and a nurse, or teacher make an average salary of $40,000 per year? Face it- this country is broke and it needs fixed. By the way, I haven't decided who to vote for- its too early. I do like Hillary and I like John Edwards and Obama. I haven't ruled out the Republicans, but I have to see who they have. The biggest complaint that I have against the Republicans is the Christian Right. I think that you should have a right to be as faithful as you want to the religion of your choice, but when you start to force your personal beliefs on others then you have gone too far. They have taken over the party. The republicans need a true conservative, a Barry Goldwater type. By the way, check out how Clinton votes (her record)- you may be surprised! Go to ontheissues.org

Oh please take me seriously!

Hi Demunda: Oh you should take me very seriously. Hillary isn't running as a Marxist, but that she is. You don't make comments about "taking profits" from companies if this is not your basic idiology. Our school system in this country is primarily a wreck because of the teacher's unions, and the inability for parents to opt out of failing schools. When Hillary was in Arkansas, and messing with the school system they were last in the nation in virtually every catagory. Blaming "No child left behind" for our educational ills is a cop out. Our schools are broken because the best and brightest can't afford to teach for the monies that are offered. Dump the unions, dump tenior. Glad you haven't made up your mind yet who you will vote for. Of the Democrats the only one that sounds reasonable to me is Bill Richardson from NM. I agree with your comments on the religious right. I'm a Christian, but certainly don't believe in imposing my belief structure about religion on other folks. That brings me to the current situation at hand and the weakness in our Country among both Democrats and Republicans. They don't seem to get, particularly Hillary that Islamic Fasciasm is a serious threat to Western Civilization. Americans are impatient, we want it now, we want a war won in a few months, well Freedom that we have enjoyed isn't free. So if you are conserned about the "Religious Right" then you might want to keep your eye on the "Religious Wrong" and that would be fundamentalist Islam. Keep it coming.

Dear demunda: I did a little quick home work for you!

Marx was both a scholar and a political activist, often called the father of communism. Sometimes, he argued that his analysis of capitalism revealed that capitalism was destined to end because of unsolvable problems within capitalism:
The development of Modern Industry, therefore, cuts from under its feet the very foundation on which the bourgeoisie produces and appropriates products. What the bourgeoisie therefore produces, above all, are its own grave-diggers. Its fall and the victory of the proletariat are equally inevitable. [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This No Hillary For President Forum Link. Other times, he argued that capitalism would end through the organized actions of an international working class:
Communism is for us not a state of affairs which is to be established, an ideal to which reality [will] have to adjust itself. We call communism the real movement which abolishes the present state of things. The conditions of this movement result from the premises now in existence. I believe if you look at Hillary's underlying phylosophy it is much more in line withthe teachings of Karl Marx than a Capitalistic market economy. Some would call her a Socialist, there is no doubt about that, I just choose to use the term Marxist as it is more reflective of her thought process. And no it doesn't take a village to raise a child. A very collective socialist idea.

To demunda: Just a few quotes to let you know what I don't like about her. The quotes go to your thinking that the government creates and provides. They extort through outrageous taxes for foolish plans.

"For society as a whole, nothing comes as a 'right' to which we are 'entitled'. Even bare subsistence has to be produced.... The only way anyone can have a right to something that has to be produced is to force someone else to produce it... The more things are provided as rights, the less the recipients have to work and the more the providers have to carry the load." Thomas Sowell, quoted in Forbes and Reader's Digest.
"A politician cannot spend one dime on any spending project without first taking that dime from the person who earned it. So, when a politician votes for a spending bill he is saying that he believes the government should spend that particular dollar rather than the individual who worked for it." Neal Boortz.
"There is no such thing as government money - only taxpayer money." William Weld, quoted in Readers Digest.

I am opposed to Hillary because she is a crook and a socialist.

Crook: Look at all the scandals that she has been involved in: Cattlegate, White Water, Casa Grande, Travelgate, Filegate, 1996 campaign finance scandal, Fostergate, 2000 Senate campaign finance scandal, theft of items from the White House, Pardongate. If elected President, we can expect new scandals.

Socialist: Hillary believes in bringing Euopean style socialism to this country. We need improvements in health care, but they should come as a result of more competition in the marketplace. Hillary's national health scheme is nothing more than a giant HMO. In order to save costs, rationing will be required just as it has been in all other countries with socialized medicine.

As somebody pointed out above, Hillary did not improve the school system in Arkansas. When the Clintons entered the Governor's Mansion, Arkansas was rated 49th in the country in education. When they left, it was still rated 49th. The best way to improve education would be to make it more competitive through a voucher system. Hillary is too much in league with the teachers' unions.

I think too many people vote on a superficial basis. I think that's what Hillary is counting on. She will continue to flip-flop on the issues and try to be all things to all people being the typical politician she is. She's hoping that she can get enough people to vote for her on her celebrity status and for the novelty of having the first woman as President.

I think the Democrats will be foolish if they nominate her. She is so polarizing, that so many people will be drawn to the polls just to vote against her. A recent poll showed that 36% of the public will not vote for her under any circumstances. That means she would have to carry over 80% of the rest of the vote in order to barely get over half the vote. Hopefully enough Democrats will realize this and pick somebody else. I don't want to see her get close to getting back in the White House by winning the nomination.
