| I think Rudy is a little more exciting than dull Dole. Also, I think you need more than the base to win elections. You need somebody who can bring in independents and some Democrats.     |

| What the Republican party is lacking is an exciting candidate with conservative credentials, name recognition, and the ability to excite all prospective Republican voters as well as the Reagan Democrats. Someone like Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. I see Thompson becoming the next Bob Dole more than Rudy. At least Rudy has the chance to bring liberals into the party who would see him as a better alternative to the socialists Democratic agenda. |
