Help GOP Activists Hope Hillary Wins Nomination

[ INDIANAPOLIS — He may be on his way out the door at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in coming days. But the party Karl Rove has labored to build over the past eight years seems to have picked up his talking points on next year’s presidential race: Hillary Rodham Clinton is going to be the Democratic nominee and that could be the GOP’s saving grace in an otherwise uphill battle. ]

I believe that's right, she will unify the GOP and bring down the Democrat Party. The Democrats will get what they deserve by nominating her, but I still wish she would get defeated in the primaries. Her winning the nomination is too close for comfort.

I would like to see her gone after the primaries as well but with Edwards fading fast and Obama constantly showing his ignorance as well as his inexperience every time he opens his mouth, I don't see how she can lose unless somebody else enters the race or her personal issues are brought up. It looks like the gloves are coming off in the Obama camp and that could be a good thing if he seriously wants to take her down.

I agree that she will energize the Republican base and will probably scare off most of the Reagan Democrats once people actually start listening and realizing what could happen

There's always the possibility that Gore could enter the race. I didn't think I'd ever be rooting for Gore. He's not much better than Hillary.

There is so much hatred toward Hillary Clinton from all political positions that it might be very good for the GOP for her to be the Dem nominee. Actually I would think that the risk is probably worthwhile because she is such a lightning rod, unlike any other Dem candidate. If another is nominated, the chances of the GOP to elect its nominee might be reduced. So hope for a Hillary nominee, as painful as that feels, and get mobilized now with the anti-hillary message...advertise it!

In speaking with Dick Morris and Bill Rusher recently, they are worried that she could actually be elected, but they think that the backlash of just her becoming the nominee can serve to inspire Republicans and many others to move very strongly against Hillary to the point of a possible defeat. What is needed now is a Republican candidate that can formulate and articulate a cohesive message of change to the American people.

Hillary being the nominee is too risky. Depending on how the war in Iraq is going and if Cheney and the neoconservatives talk Bush into attacking Iran and a worldwide economic collapse results from an attack on Iran as Scott Ritter believes, people may become disgusted with the Republicans and end up holding their noses and vote for Hillary.
