(September 27, 2009) New Hamas rocket 'brings Tel Aviv within range'
(AFP) – 7 hours ago
JERUSALEM — The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas has successfully test-fired a rocket capable of reaching Tel Aviv from the Gaza Strip, a senior Israeli general warned on Tuesday.
The rocket, believed to be Iranian-made, has a range of about 60 kilometres (37 miles), putting Israel's major population centres in range, said Major General Amos Yadlin, head of military intelligence.

"Clifford A Kiracofe provides a highly readable and welcome analysis of the important subject of Christian Zionism as he traces the origins, development and ideology of this controversial movement. His nuanced discussion of the complex relationship between Christian Zionism and nineteenth and early twentieth century British imperial policy in the Middle East is both well presented and insightful. A detailed and provocative examination of the impact made by Christian Zionism on US foreign policy, Dark Crusade makes essential reading for all those with a serious interest in the prospects for peace in the Middle East and in western policies in general toward the region."-- Edmund Ghareeb, Professor of Middle East History and Politics, American University, Washington, DC Product Description
Despite its efforts to promote peace and instil democracy in the region, America is viewed by many in the Middle East as a dishonest broker waging a "dark crusade" against its enemies: in covert collaboration with Israel. The crucial hostility to Arab and Palestinian interests of the so-called "Zionist lobby" in the US has long been recognized. But it is another less familiar element in US politics that increasingly calls the shots on Capitol Hill, directing the course of American foreign policy there: Christian Zionism. Christian Zionists now influence not only the Republican Party, but also the White House and Congress. Protestant fundamentalists are anticipating the end of the world and they have long made common cause with the most extreme political elements in the state of Israel. But why? Jews and fundamentalist Christians hardly look like natural allies. Adhering to a feverish apocalyptic ideology, Christian Zionists nevertheless believe that restoration of the entire biblical Holy Land to the Jewish people will result the thousand-year reign of Christ. During his eleven years working in the Senate, the author observed at first hand the deep-seated influence of Christian Zionism on American foreign policy, and is uniquely qualified to assess its significance. Dark Crusade offers the most nuanced analysis yet written of this dangerous and complex phenomenon. |

| | | Even if a major war does come to the Middle East, it doesn't mean anything supernatural. You're just engaged in a game of mixing and matching, the same thing that people have been doing throughout history. The writings in Daniel referred to Antiochus Epiphanes as the evil one. Midway between the 7 years, he put up an abomination of desolation (a statue of Zeus) and in his attempt at Hellenizing the Jews, forced them to worship Zeus. The early Christians interpreted the events of 70 AD as a fulfillment of the prophecies of Daniel. During the French Revolution, there were troops in the Middle East. People were convinced that that would lead to Armageddan. People were convinced that the war in Afghanistan with the Soviet Union was leading to Armageddan. People were convinced that Sadam Hussein was the Anti-Christ and that Iraq was Babylon. Now people are pointing to a potential war with Iran and Israel as pointing to Armageddan. |

| | | I must also point out that even if Iran is working on nukes, how do we know that they are for offensive purposes as opposed to defensive purposes? Who could blame them with a beligerant Israel always threatening to bomb them for just having a nuclear program which they're entitled to under the Non-Profliferation Treaty and with US and or NATO troops surrounding them on both sides? As I've said before, they would be foolish to start an offensive war against Israel when they know the US would retaliate. Ahmadinejad was misinterpreted as saying that he would be glad when Israel was wiped off the map. What he really meant was he would be glad when the present Zionist regime in Israel is wiped from the pages of time in the same way as the Soviet regime in Russia was. Some say the Mullahs are just crazy enough to bring about a nuclear war to bring about the Mahdi in the same way that Christian zionists are willing to promote a major war in the Middle East to bring about the 2nd coming of Christ. Ronald Reagan had these kooky ideas about Armageddon, but he was responsible enough not to try to bring about it. In the same way, I don't think the Mullahs would be that irresponsible. If anybody is going to bring about a major war in the Middle East, it's Israel. Israel is allowed to get away with having 200 nukes because the US is protecting Israel. Israel is allowed to continue their illegal settlements of the West Bank, their cruel treatment of the Palestinians, and a possible bombing of Iran, thus turning the world into turmoil and wrecking the world economy. Israel knows it can do these things because we're enabling them.
Another interesting point about Israel is that those in control according to the Israeli Jewish historian Shlomo Sand in his new book "The Invention of the Jewish People" are for the most part not blood descendants of the original Hebrew people. They are descendants of Eastern Europeans who were converted to Judaism during the Middle Ages. Ironically, the true blood descendants of the Hebrews are the Palestinian Muslims and Palestinian Christians whom the Ashkanazi Jews are trying to chase out. The Ashkanazi Jews also even discriminate against the Sephardic Jews in Palestine who are also direct descendants of the Hebrews. So Zionism is nothing but a European colonization of Palestine and ethnic cleansing of the true blood descendants of the Hebrews. |

It has ALL been prophesied., and YOU are one of many walking the fulfillment..

| | | Even the born again Christian Jimmy Carter can see the danger from the Christian Zionists when he said in "Our Endangered Values": These believers are convinced that they have a personal responsibility to hasten this coming of the 'rapture' in order to fulfill biblical prophecy. Their agenda calls for a war in the Middle East against Islam and the taking of the entire Holy Land by Jews, with the total expulsion of all Christians and other gentiles. |

| | | A review of Barbara Tuchman's "Bible and Sword": The title is the best summary of this book, October 5, 1997
By A Customer
Ms.Tuchman traces the relationship between England and the establishment of a Jewish homeland. She takes us from the Beaker people who settled England to the Balfour Declaration of 1917. Tuchman, even in her first book, establishes a narrative style of writing about history that she would later use to achieve awesome heights in historical literature. The main enjoyment of this book is the detailed description of how the English were determined to regain Palestine for the Jewish people, so they then could be converted (whether the Jews wanted to or not),to christianity thus hastening the second comming of Christ. It also spreads some light on the seeming insanity of the puritans, who briefly changed England into a hebraic theocracy to protest the predominance of the Latin Catholic Church. It was probably impossible for Tuchamn to write this book without a little bias seeping through, and at times her treatment of the German people seems to be a little bit one sided, although this is quite understandable. If you ever wanted to know about the historical foundations of the Jewish Homeland, this book is for you. | |
