[ Among Democrats, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton led Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, 36-25 percent. Seneca native and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards had 20 percent, an 11-point drop from December’s poll. An assortment of announced and unofficial candidates scored from 1 to 2 percent, including Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden, 2 percent; and Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, 1 percent each.
The Democratic poll was taken after Obama’s and Clinton’s mid-February visits to South Carolina’s Democratic heartland. ]
