[ CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards says Jesus would be appalled at how the United States has ignored the plight of the suffering, and that he believes children should have private time to pray at school.

Edwards, in an interview with the Web site Beliefnet.com, said Jesus would be most upset with the selfishness of Americans and the country's willingness to go to war "when it's not necessary." ]

This is just my opinion but keep an eye on Edwards. Like I stated in other threads, Hillary is toast. She has too many skeletons in her closet to go on the attack as shown by Obama's "LIncoln Bedroom" response to her first attack. She's been quiet since. Only when her lead disappears will she attack again and that will be her undoing. Edwards will be there to pick up the pieces as the only alternative to Obama.

It appears that Edwards remarks were made to make him look like the other centrist. He's positioning himself for the inevitable.

Please, dear God, let nohil-billy be correct on that statement. I disagree with you, but I HOPE you are correct. I think almost nothing can stop this woman at this point and she MAY do it.

I am going to research John Edwards more and see what I can come up with. He may be a real contender after all. I might be wrong on that one. Basically, I will support ANYONE who can actually beat Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2008. I have a very bad feeling about "that woman" deep down in my soul.

nohill-billy, I've been saying the same thing for some time about Edwards. When Democrats realize that the public is not going to vote for a polarizing woman and may not be quite ready to vote for a black, Edwards will be in line to move up to the top spot. Unfortunately, the way alot of women vote, Edwards has the looks to get alot of women's votes.

And he does't appear to have the baggage at this time. That could make for a strong contender. I'd take anybody over Hillary, just hope it's Rudy. Maybe Fred Thompson will come back from Hollywood and run, he has name and face recognition. He also could run as an outsider that was once in but left because he knew ge could make a living other than on Government handouts.

Wiseone: Are you paranoid? This psycho, morphing, going for the blacks, going for the Jewish, going for the women, speaking souther dog won't be going any place. I like Herb's reasoning. Remember, just because the DNC has as it's "mantra, a lie repeated often enough is often accepted as the truth" isn't going to fly with this schrill woman. Talk about trying to stuff 175 lbs of crap into a size 6 pants suit? Cool your jet's dude, she's in it for our own personal entertainment. She has never had to answere questions by the press, they are going to eat her lunch. I want to watch her polarize and destroy her own party for awhile, and in the process spend lots of the donations as the DNC figures out which horse to be upon.
