I wouldn't say that. She only looked halfway impressive because she looked so bad in the Couric interview. She performed above expectations.

I thought she did well, but the more I look at the reviews, the more conservative my opinion appears to be. Even left leaners think she gave Joe a spankin'. When you put her in a situation where she can be herself and doesn't have to worry about the "biased liberal gotcha's," she does quite well.

Good for McCain for highlighting Ifills predilections toward Obama before the debate. One right wing pundit I read even accused Ifill of bias during the debate, though I didn't see it. If there was bias, Palin didn't let it bother her.

Granted, she did better than expected. But the polls still showed that most people believed Biden won the debate.
