Hillary Promises Universal Care

Well, they are at it again, 14% of Americans aren't covered, yet can by law be treated at an emergency room. This of course is expensive, yet the Socialists once again want to highjack 17% of the GDP and give us the type of service that the military is currently complaining about, veterans, abhore, and Western Europe including Canada can't afford.
Something very important to think about: When was the last time "The Government" had a scientific break through of any kind in medicine? Hillary will destroy the incentives as will any Democrat with a House and Senate controlled by them for the drug companies to innovate.

Some are promising to raise taxes, Hillary, the wordsmith that she is, tells us she won't rule out anything. Let me get this straight, if I choose not to smoke, eat well, exercise, purchase health insurance, why am I obligated to pay for yours, particularly when you probably drink a six pack a day and smoke a couple pack. Use that money to buy insurance and quit being a victim. I know this sounds harsh, you aren't really victims, only Democrats create victims.

Ironically, McCain in his dying campaign, was on the road talking about how we should be concerned about Socialism is South America. Hello John, I respect your service to our country, but have you been asleep the last 20 years?

Why doesn't our government test market their ideas like private enterprise does. If Hillary wants national health care lets build a few regional hospitals where needed the most (L.A, NYC, Chicago) funded by HHS. See what kind of services the government could provide at what cost and see how many people would actually go to a federal hospital.

This one size fits all mentality to remedy problems affecting only a small percentage of the population has got to cease. Remember, should our health care system fall into the hands of the government, there will be no turning back.

I agree, this would be the same Government, running our health-care, that can't even get your driver's licenses right and you have to stand in line for hours on end to do ANYTHING with the Government (while the employees pick their boogers and yap with their buds and are in NO way in a hurry). I wish some Canadians would get in here and let us know how much you all hate your health-care up their now (I've talked to MANY from Canada who hate it). Why are Canadians coming down to the United States, in droves, to get good health-care if "socialized", universal, government-run health-care was so good?

Talk about having a nation full of hypochondriacs? Shoot, every little splinter, every little bump or jolt would jam our emergency rooms to over capacity fast. Universal health-care (run by the Government) is a disaster waiting to happen (just like Hillary is).

Also, let's hope those booger-picking Government employees don't decide to go on strike just as you are awaiting an operation! Shoot, the whole idea of Government-run health-care makes me shiver.

It's amazing how in spite of the fact that socialized medicine has been a failure in every country it's ever been tried, the leftists in this country want to bring it here. I think they know what a failure it is, but don't care. They are so into egalitarianism and control.

Universial Helath Care sounds wonderful for the uneducated and naive, which accounts for the majority of liberals. Like a lot of the big plans the DIMocrats suggest there is no solid answers on how to pay for it. There is no economical understanding of the effects it will have on our society. The DIMS have no clue what it will cost or what it will even look like. Their big plan is contained on 1 piece of paper that says, "OUR BIG PLAN: UNIVERSIAL HEALTH CARE See Hillary, PAGE 1 of 1. THE END." Liberals cry about liberty and infringement of rights and privacy, what's more private than your health? what's defines your right as American more than freedom of choice? Throw those ideas out the window if you allow the Socialist Clinton's to take control of America's health care.

Liberals do seem to be very short sighted on economics. But then maybe they don't care about the results of their socialistic programs. What matters to them is egalitarianism which they feel is only fair as long as they're not brought down to everybody else's level. Another thing that matters to them is power and control. They want to be in charge, not doctors, not businessmen. In their arrogance, they think they know better. Patients and consumers don't know what's good for them. Only Hillary can decide for us.

Excellent post first cav, welcome to the forum. nohil-billy suggests a test market. Apparently he isn't aware that we have had one for at least 50 years. It's called the VA system and unwittingly has been brought to our attention by the left wing media to bash Bush over the treatment of our military. There can be no better example of what the government will provide. I've been a cancer researcher for 31 years and know the VA system well. It's to sad to call it a joke! This must be remembered as in bumper stickers, "YOU WANT UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE?" REMEMBER WALTER REED!
