Race baiting is the term for an act of using [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This No Hillary For President Forum Link. derisive language, actions or other forms of communication, to anger, intimidate or incite a person or groups of people, or to make those persons behave in ways that are inimical to their personal or group interests. This can also be accomplished by implying that there is an underlying race based motive in the actions of others towards the group baited, where none in fact exists. The term "race" in this context can be construed very broadly to include the social constructs which define race or racial difference, as well as ethnic, religious, gender and economic differences. Thus the use of any language or actions perceived to be for the purpose of exploiting weaknesses in persons who can be identified as members of certain groups, or to reinforce a group's perceived victimhood, can be contained within the concept of "race baiting." Many people who practice race baiting often believe in [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This No Hillary For President Forum Link. , or have an interest in making the group believe that racism is what motivates the actions of others. The term "race baiting" is often a critique of anti-racist actions and communications implying that those who criticize apparent racism are themselves guilty of either a form of racism or of simple manipulation. [see Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson for examples]
COMMENT: Looks like this is what Clinton-Obama is turning into! Talking just about White/Black demographics has turned up the heat!! If Obama does get the nom, will continue thru the general election too.

Much of this started after South Carolina when Slick Willy dismissed Obama's victory as typical for a black candidate in that state. While this strikes the average thin skinned African-American as racist, it is nonetheless true. If divisive candidates such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton could do well in So. Carolina, then why all the hoopla surrounding an Obama victory? This was no surprise. If there was ever a state where "the color of ones skin trumped the content of ones character," South Carolina is it. With victory comes momentum, and I'm sure that Slick Willy was trying to keep that to a minimum by pointing out the obvious.
Blacks are always going to cry racism any time they perceive the white man as anything less than ecstatic over one of their "We shall overcome" moments, and they will always accuse whites of race baiting if we should have the audacity to point out the chinks in their candidates armor. It's the way they play the game. Obama included!!!
To think that blacks are fair minded and above the racial fray requires a willingness to suspend disbelief. One only has to look at past elections to see the pattern:
Blacks cried racism when David Dinkins lost re-election as mayor of New York City, though he garnered 97% of the black vote and was by anybody's standards, a lousy mayor.
Blacks re-elected Marion Barry over and over again in spite of his drug use and other legal problems.
Blacks re-elected William Jefferson in spite of his indictment for bribery and over $90,000 found in his freezer.
Blacks re-elected Ray Nagin even though the only black a*s he was interested in evacuating out of New Orleans was his own.
