Forbidden N. Carolina Ad Racist?

The DNC is pressuring John McCain to get the North Carolina Republican Committee to pull a commercial showing Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright uttering the words God Da*n America. The commercial is aimed at two local Democrats and questions their judgement for backing Obama who has described the Reverend Wright as a mentor.

It's the DNC's opinion that the commercial is racist.

It's the opinion of Obama's campaign spokesman that the ad is a misleading personal attack ad raising serious questions about McCain's promise to the American people that he will run a civil, respectful campaign."

Apparently though, overt racism is just fine when it's being done by the Obama campaign and even Obama himself. Obama's campaign manager, David Plouffe, said in an interview with National Journal's Linda Douglass that race would not be a problem for Obama in November because "the vast, vast majority of voters who would not vote for Barack Obama in November based on race are probably firmly in John McCain's camp already,"

Does anybody think that it's time for Obama to run a civil, respectful campaign and fire his campaign manager? Don't count on it! Barack Obama made almost the exact same statement while announcing his candidacy for president in Springfield, Illinois.

Imagine, at the home of the Great Emancipator and America's first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, Obama painted the whole of the Republican Party as racists, and yesterday his campaign manager repeated that sentiment.
