| | | "He stressed how the war in Iraq was depleating our resources and money. It was stretching our military too thin, and it was destroying our economy." Get ready for more depleation of our resources and money. Newsmax has an article today about how we could very well start up a war in Iran within the next couple of months or so. The writer of the article said he believes that's why Admiral Fallon quit because of his opposition to the upcoming war on Iran. The writer also pointed out that the reason for the recent trip to the Middle East by Cheney was to inform the leadership there of the upcoming war. The following day after Cheney's visit, Saudi Arabia created a civil defense plan dealing with protection against radiation. When American planes bomb Iran's nuclear facilities, it will create a leakage of radiation into the air which could affect Saudi Arabia and other nearby countries. Bush and Petreus have also been busy demonizing Iran lately to get the public behind the upcoming war. I guess I don't have to worry about McWar starting up a war in Iran, it looks like Bush might beat him to it. |

| | | I was hoping that Bush would address the situation in Iran before leaving office so there was no chance that it could fester for four to eight more years (Like North Korea) should the Democrats take the White House.
But that's just me. One of those redneck small town folk predisposed to hatred and violence. |

| | | It's an unecessary action. There is no way that Iran poses a threat to us or even Israel. There is no way they would use nukes against us or Israel when they know that we could retaliate and wipe them off the map. The result of an attack on Iran will be an escalated price in oil and a collapse of the economy.
Iran is seeking nukes because they believe if they get nukes, the US will leave them alone the way we leave North Korea alone. They saw what happened to Iraq. Our actions overseas promote nuclear proliferation. | | Remove This Ad By Registering. Join Our Hillary For President Forum For Free. Sponsored Links:

| | | Wow Herb, I agree with you. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable about those people is their willingness to die for their religion. The willingness of the Japanese to die for their emperor made fighting them almost impossible. We used two atomic bombs so we didn't have to. |

| | | We used two atomic bombs to show the Soviets what we had. Japan had offered terms of surrender, that we would not harm their emperor was their only stipulation. We said no, it had to be an unconditional surrender. So we bombed them and then they offered the same terms of surrender of which we accepted this time. The slaughter of innocent unarmed civilians in Nagasaki and Hiroshima was totally unecessary regarding our conflict with Japan. |

They would die for their god and their country.
Youy make it sound like thats crazy.
Funny, how when an American dies for his country, or on a crusade for religion, then he all of a sudden becomes a hero.
So if someone in the middle east does it, then they're crazy? |

| | | Sorry h2l but you've strayed off course a bit. Fighting for ones country is honorable and often necessary to maintain your lifestyle and culture. Strapping a bomb to ones self and blowing yourself and innocent bystanders to bits in the name of religion is a little off the chain. Especially when your not under attack.
I notice that you do not capitalize the g in god. Is this a typo or are you declaring your disbelief in a higher power? If you are, your comparison is even more ludicrous. |

| | | We were not born or tought what they are tought. The importance of Religion in this country always takes a back seat to money. You know that. But in poor countries and poor people, religion and their country is all they have. And they to things that we find crazy. Because we have an easy chair and a few grand $$$ in the bank, we can't see why blowing ourselves up would be important.
Example: Why would I blow myself up when I have a mortgage that needs to be paid, and an IRS refund check coming. I have a kids birthday to buy for next week.
Those people don't have squat except their religion and their country. And apparently it's more important to them to die for than what useless lives they live.
But, that doesn't give our government the right to occupy their coutry, overthrow their government and military because they don't like us or their government for siding with us.
Especially, not at the American tax payers expense.
Bush has the right to be president. But he doesn't have the right to destroy whats left of our constitution, our dollar, and eventually, our way of life. And neither do the congressmen, both democrat and republican, who continue to side with Bush on everysingle issue.
This country is going broke at the hands of people who don't pay taxes. Who don't have to worry about fuel cost, retirement, college tuition, and health care.
While your sitting back trying to pick out your cleanest dirty shirt to run this country, it's going broke. It's getting ever so close to a nuclear war. John McCain said he would use nuclear bombs to take out Irans nuclear facilities. Thats starting a nuclear war. We know George Bush would start a nuclear war with anyone.
