Iraq will lose this election for McCain

McCain’s entire campaign seems to center around Iraq.

If the situation in Iraq goes south before election day, GWB and Co. will get the blame and McCain will look like a fool for saying we may have to be in Iraq for 100 years.

If the situation in Iraq is all rosy between now and election day, Iraq won’t be a campaign issue and McCain has nothing else to offer. What are his plans regarding the economy? What is he going to do about gas prices? Will he propose a balanced budget before election day so we can know what his spending priorities will be? Will he do anything about abortion? What is his position on marriage (other than his own adultery)?

The Republicans have slit their own throat and good riddance to them all.

"McCain’s entire campaign seems to center around Iraq."

You're exactly right, flaja. War seems to be all McCain cares about. He even said he is no expert on economics, that his expertise is on foreign policy. That shows where his focus will be. I sure hope Hillary is not the nominee, because with a candidate like McCain, the Democrats will surely win.

All winter long I have heard nothing but how McCain should be the GOP nominee because it would be so easy for the war hero to beat Hillary and Obama. But this morning I heard a poll that doesn’t give him more than 2-4 point lead over either of them. McCain couldn’t even win 50% in a presidential primary in his own state. What makes anything think he can beat the Democrats this November?

Probably the fact that the polls indicate he very well could win.

The polls I heard about this morning say McCain’s favorable rating is only 46%. How can a man who has a majority unfavorable/don’t know rating win a presidential election?

How? The polls, in which you seem to have so much faith, indicate he has an excellent chance of defeating either Hills or Barry.

Speaking of unfavorable ratings, have you seen Hillary's lately?

A 1 or 2 point lead does not indicate an excellent chance of victory. According to the latest Rasmussen poll McCain would beat Obama by only 1 point and he’d beat Hillary only by 2. [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This No Hillary For President Forum Link.

Furthermore, According to the March 2 Real Clear Politics average of polls, Obama would beat McCain by 5.5 percentage points and Hillary would beat him by 0.3 percentage points. [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This No Hillary For President Forum Link.

In the Rasmussen poll McCain has a 45% unfavorable rating while Hillary’s unfavorable rating is only 50%. And McCain’s favorable rating in on a downward trend. It has lost 4 points since February 25 while Hilary’s favorable rating has gone up by 4 points since March 1.

A recent Washington Post/ABC poll shows that if the election were held now, Obama would beat McCain by 52 to 40 and Hillary would beat him by 50 to 44.

I believe the reason why McCain's popularity is going down now is because more people are finding out what a warmonger he is. Exit polls actually showed people voting for him in the past because they mistakenly thought he was anti-war.

It's apparent, the GOP, thanks to George Bush, John McCain, and the rest of the neocons, is going down this year. Just as Ron Paul predicted. They have obviously lost their way. The American people are sick to death of their fear mongering, spying, internet tracking, the war, soldiers deaths,National ID legislation etc etc etc.

And considering the media hasn't been reporting this as I am about to, I think you will see what I mean. If your a neocon supporter. You might want to sit down. The real conservatives (like us Ron Paul supporters) and the democrats & independents have already figured this out.

I added up these tallies.

Votes for democrats:
Barack Obama: Primaries = 12,775,384 & Caucus's = 356,513
Hillary Clinton: Primaries = 13,049,849 & Caucus's = 175,907
John Edwards: Primaries = 815,963 & Caucus's = 2,593

With a total of: Primaries = 26,641,196 & Caucus's = 535,013

Votes for Republicans:
John McCain: Primaries = 7,206,406 & Caucus's = 58,791
Mitt Romney: Primaries = 4,254,273 & Caucus's = 126,564
Mike Huckabee: Primaries = 2,961,584 & Caucus = 84,316
Rudy Giuliani: Primaries = 543,610 & Caucus's = 6,007
Ron Paul: Primaries = 764,431 & Caucus's = 42,562
Fred Thompson: Primaries = 142,820 & Caucus's = 19,425

With a total of: Primaries = 15,873,124 & Caucus's = 337,665

Now, for a tally of Republicans VS. Democrats

Republicans: Primaries = 14,358,052 & Caucus's = 337,665
Democrats: Primaries = 26,641,196 & Caucus's = 535,013

The democrats are beating the GOP: Primaries = 12,283,144 & Caucus's = 197,348

My friends, I am a Ron Paul conservative. But it looks like the GOP have lost their more than their way.
