You have it all backwards flaja. I'm sure that the occurence of violent crimes is just as high or higher amongst people who don't smoke pot or drink. Radical Islam would be one good example. Wasn't Eric Rudolph a Christian? And how about those upstanding souls from the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas.

If you're predisposed to commit crime or act like an a*shole, it makes no difference if you smoke pot or not. Maybe you would understand where we're coming from if the next time a pastor and his son dies in a car wreck, the media noted that it was a thirty-five year old christian woman who was not under the influence of anything. But that wouldn't make good reading, would it.

You need to lighten' up flaja. And I got just the thing for that.

In you honestly think drug use doesn't promote violent crime on the part of people who get stoned on drugs, why don't you lock yourself in a room loaded with weapons, an unlimited supply of drugs and just one addict. How long do you believe you would last without coming to harm?

So now we've gone from recreational use to locking ourselves in a room with an addict. Let me guess, this addict should be going through withdrawal too, right? And he or she has a gun and I've got the key to the medicine cabinet, right? Is there anything I've missed to make this scenario menacing enough to prove your point? How about me suggesting to the addict that we hold an I-N-T-E-R-V-E-N-T-I-O-N? Yeah, that should make him angry enough to shoot.

You're really convinced that anyone who takes drugs will be violent? There are people walking around on prescription medication that is stronger than anything I ever smoked and they're living normal productive lives. You don't have a freakin' clue what you're talking about, flaja!!!

The effects of drugs depends on set and setting. If a person is not predisposed to violence, it's very unlikely the drug use will make him violent. Different people act differently under the influence of certain drugs. It's not like the fiction Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde where people automatically become different people under the influence. Certain drugs might enhance a person's personality in certain ways like enhance a person's violence if that person already has a potential along those lines, but these substances don't affect everybody in the same way. Why punish people just for the use of these substances? Punish people for the crimes they commit. It's the same case with guns. Should we punish somebody just because they own a gun? Should we punish them if they use it in self-defense? No, we only punish them if they use it in the process of committing a crime.
