| "The Secret" This really has not much to do with Hillary, but I see it as the latest, greatest cult fad sweeping the mindless masses. The biggest Secret Bully is Oprah. I would never once ever in my whole life spend longer than a fraction of a second paying attention to anything Oprah has to say, but I'm married. I put up with it just to get along in the household.
The Secret is a fantasy interpretation of the cosmic powers of the universe. The core of it all is "The law of attraction: Like attracts like." I'm no philosopher, but I did take high school level chemistry and some physics in college.
Gravity fits the Secret's law of attraction, but nothing else in natural science supports like attracting like. If anything, nature proves that opposites attract. The north end of a magnet is attracted to the south end of another magnet. North ends do not attract eachother. Electrons orbit the nucleus in defined paths called shells because they share a common charge and repell eachother. As a matter of fact, electricity couldn't possibly flow if "like" electrons attracted eachother.
When I open a bottle of amonia and let it sit in the room, eventually the bottle will overflow because ammonia molecules will be attracted away from the air outside of the bottle. This is the logic used to build the Secret's "Law of Attraction." Of course we know this doesn't happen because of the "Law of Entropy: Matter moves from a state of order to a state of disorder."
If any reader believes the bull that is being sold in The Secret, please let me know at what point in nature does entropy get turned upside down? Where does entropy get over ruled by this so-called "Law of Attraction?"
If anything, The Secret proves to me that the Church of the Subgenius is closer to the true path to enlightenment. Scientology, Caballa, The Secret... Reverend Bob Dobbs will have his turn soon, I think.
