First off, hi everyone - this is my first post here. My name is Gabriel. :)
Now, i'm not really into politics or rather never been into it before but I have this urge this time around to cast a vote for our deteriorating country.
I've been looking into the Democratic party nominees because it seems this side has the most in common with my own ideas. I've been trying to conjure up pro's and con's for both Clinton and Obama and I thought what better place to ask than a NOHILLARY forum.
Can you guys tell me why you're against Hillary? I've read about her scandals so far, her deceit, bribery, etc. Not to mention that it bothers me that a lot of her votes will be coming from "she's the first woman so let me pick her" voters... I'm leaning towards Obama either way and I would like some help on determining my candidate or on how to research the best candidate for me. Obama is amazingly charismatic and seems genuine in his hopes to unite the US for common goals.
Help! Teach me politics!

I can't speak for anyone else here but I don't like Hillary Clinton because I think her ideas are extremely dangerous. One thing she said that stands out in my mind is that, if a private company makes what she thinks is an inordinately high profit, she wants to take that profit away from them to indulge her own nefarious whims. Why she thinks she is entitled to have any say whatsoever in what a private company does with its own profits is a mystery. She seems oblivious to the damage this would do to private enterprise and employment. (She really ought to take a refresher course on the Declaration of Independence.) But that's only one example of why I don't like 'er.
In addition to that, the woman has no integrity. She is manipulative and irredeemably corrupt. Electing her would offer no benefit to our country. On the contrary, she'd almost certainly do serious damage. It would be another Clinton puppet show, full of distractions and deceptions, excuses and explanations. We just don't need to fool around with that nonsense again.
Hillary is a crook as both you, Gabriel and Corvair pointed out. That's the main reason I would vote for Obama over her. Also, on health care, Obama is at least for a more voluntary system as opposed to Hillary's and Edwards' and Romney's coercion of health care coverage. I will vote for Ron Paul in the primary if he's still in the race in March, if not, I'll vote in the Democratic primary for the first time in my life to vote against Hillary by voting for Obama.

Hillary scares me, she has some crazy and very dangerous ideas.
1. I didn't vote for Ross Perot two times to give the Democrats an excuse to put Hillary on my ballot. Hillary Clinton would be lesser known than Kitty Dukakis if Ross Perot did not get Bill Clinton elected in the first place.
2. Bill Clinton debated Ross Perot. Al Gore debated Ross Perot. Hillary Clinton doesn't have the courage to debate a third party candidate, so she deserves none of the respect I may have had for Bill and Al.
3. Bill Clinton nearly reduced the Democrat Party to Minor Party status in 1996 in Ohio. Democrats were less than one percent from being equals to the Reform Party in 1996. When Democrats go under Major Party status, Ohio will have a one party system.
(I'm torn about this complaint. If Hillary reduces Democrats to minor party, this creates an opportunity for a new 2nd party to emerge. I like that possibility.)
4. If I already decided that I won't vote for Bill, then why in god's name would I vote for Hillary?
5. Hillary wants to turn private enterprise into property of the state. If she loses, you should consider moving to Venezuela.
6. I fear that we will borrow money to pay for the socialized medicine programs that she wants to introduce. I HATE when future generations of taxpayers who are not even born yet carry the burden of spending for those in power today. Do you want your children to pay to keep me alive? The debt will live longer than I will live.
7. She's a big phony. She changes her voice and dialect to match her perceived stereotype of those who are listening.

The only thing I would advise you to read is each candidates voting record, voting record, and of course, voting record. Thats the only thing that is going to give you 100% proof is what they are saying, is how they are voting.
I would suggest [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This No Hillary For President Forum Link. , and [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This No Hillary For President Forum Link. . Both of those sites give you all the information about each bill, the full text of the bills, and how other congressmen voted.
