So, I checked up on this, and you're 100% right. Which astounds me. It's not just the ADA (who is the ADA? American Dental Association? American Disabilities Act? I need a link!) I've found a half dozen different organizations that measure this sort of thing and they all agree with you and the ADA. Freakin' dentists, always trying to tell you who is liberal and what toothpaste to use.
I think that is part of the disconnect between Washington and the people. She gets her liberal ratings through metrics I don't care about. Abortion, gay rights, gun control. *shrug* I just don't see those as pressing issues. Healthcare is more of a financial thing than a human rights thing for me. I can't hire as many employees because I would have to provide healthcare, which bumps their hourly rate another $3.
For me, the core issues are bringing sanity back to our taxation system, quit spending all our money and the lives of our troops in Iraq, increase government funding of food inspections and basic infrastructure. She voted in lockstep w/ Pres. Bush over the tax cuts. She not only voted to go to war with Iraq, she just recently voted to brand Iran's Revolutionary Guard as terrorists (which might be correct, but in practice what it does is give Pres. Bush the right to attack Iran). Her husband increased USDA inspectors, but nowhere near the same number that Reagan decreased them. And she doesn't seem to have a problem with the funding cuts to the Army Corps of Engineers (who are responsible for New Orleans' levees).
So, I guess I'm not the stereotypical liberal, where Hillary really is. I wonder how that changes the way I vote. Certainly, it won't make me vote Republican. Bloomberg, though......
