A professional genealogical researcher discovered that Hillary Clinton's great-great uncle, Remus Rodham, a fellow lacking in character, was hanged for horse-stealing and train-robbery in Montana. He was hanged in 1889. The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows.

On the back of the picture is this inscription: "Remus Rodham; horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889."

The researcher e-mailed Hillary Clinton @NY.Gov for comments.

Hillary's staff of professional image adjusters cropped Remus' picture, scanned it, enlarged the image, and edited it with image processing software, so that all that's seen is a head shot. The accompanying biographical sketch read as follows:

Remus Rodham was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to service at a government facility, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.

Hey guys this is a joke and urban legend, there is the same story doing the rounds about Bush.

As for the US not spying on you, Really !

The USA has been spying on it's own citizens for years that is why Bush changed the laws so he could "Protect" you from terrorists. The NSA collects and scans both internal and external emails and internet chat.

If you say something like, Osama is a great man! a little light comes on and everyone on the site becomes a suspect for the government.

Lucky I don't live in America or I would be worried.

Sorry if I was not clear I was referring to GW Bush the current president of your Country using the NSA to spy on American citizens as well as us foreigners. Apparently he thought it was OK to override the privacy laws of your country to gather and inspect both overseas and internal communications without the court warrants required by law.

It just surprises me you are afraid of what may happen in the future but are not aware of what has happened and what is happening NOW!

I believer it was December 26th 2006 when the FBI demanded all records from all hotels in Las Vagas as to everyone who happened to be visiting that city for New years Eve. Everyone in Vagas suddenly became terrorist suspects and were placed on FBI investigation files.

This kind of behaviour does not worry you ?

I don't know about WiseOne, Dug, but this behavior does not worry me in the least. Since the implementation of the Patriot Act and the warrantless wire tapping, nobody has been rounded up or arrested for anything that was not associated with terrorism. The ACLU and other leftist wacko groups that are against it have yet to produce a victim.

I never heard of the event of 26 December 2006, but it sounds to me as if the FBI was acting on a tip. Las Vegas is, and always has been considered an attractive target for terrorism. Would it bother me if someone was going through my luggage while I was playing the slots? Not hardly!! I would rather win a jackpot than be the jackpot of some psycho Islamo-facist.
