Hillary spoke at a liberal conference today.
She said that Bushe's government has "a stunning record of secrecy and corruption, of cronyism run amok. It is everything our founders were afraid of, everything our Constitution was designed to prevent."
How could she say all that with a straight face? Remember the secrecy with her health care initiative? Remember all the corruption? Probably the most corrupt administation in history. Remember the cronyism with the Ryadis and Tyson? How dare she talk about our founders and the Constitution! Does she really believe she is in line with them? This really made my blood boil.
When she spoke about Iraq, that's when all the booing began. She is positioning herself as now being opposed to the war in Iraq, but can't bring herself to admit she was wrong in supporting it in the first place. She has even tried to rewrite history by saying she never really gave Bush the authority to invade Iraq. Somehow her vote was for diplomacy, even though she voted against a bill by Senator Levin at the time that would have required more diplomacy before Bush went to war. "Her Way" has two chapters which show how dishonest she's being on this issue. How stauchly she supported the war at first and now is trying to distance herself from it now that it's become unpopular. If enough Democrats read that book, she is toast.
