USA Opinion On V.P. Condi

What does everybody think of the idea of Condi as V.P. with McCain? I was reading Michael Savage's "The Political Zoo" today and she is the only one he didn't go negative on in the whole book. As a matter of fact, he did nothing but sing her praises, and with good reason. The woman's accomplishments are extraordinary.

Oh, I would LOVE her as VP...never will happen though...she wants to go back to being a Professor at Stanford after Bush. Heck, she would be a GREAT President, but it won't happen. VERY smart, and classy lady!

I like Condi. I don't like her interventionist mentality, but I believe she would be more willing to negotiate with enemies than John "bomb first and bomb always" McCain.

I've been thinking that she would be a good choice for McCain, but it would emphasize Bush's failed foreign policy which Republicans need to distance themselves from. Too bad, McCain seems bent on political suicide by embracing it.

I read that chapter, too, standing at the rack in the store. The odd thing was that shortly after Savage's book came out, he went off on Rice on his radio show, ripping her to shreds. It was strange, considering what he said in his book about her. I can't figure that guy out.

Condi, though, is very impressive. She could be great as McCain's running mate, but some people would probably say that while the ticket would be strong on foreign policy, it would be weak on domestic policy and executive experience.

They'd definitely have to hire somebody for domestic policy but it would be nice to have a dyed-in-the-wool conservative on the ticket to excite the base.

No, she's too much of a policy wonk than a politican, and it'd look like a defensive manuever if Barack was running as VP. Also, she's pro-choice, Juan should look in the other direction this year.

I heard this morning on FNC that not only is Condi seriously being considered for VP, she has let it be known that she is willing to consider it. This would give independent women and African Americans another option if they're leaning toward someone of their ilk. It would also boost McCain's standings with base conservatives.

I like Condi, but I don't know how much it would help McCain in picking up black votes when they'll have a candidate who's black to vote for for President who also shares their point of view more than Condi does. It seems to me that McCain should be emphasizing somebody that is better known as strong on economics. With Condi as his pick, he seems to be stressing foreign policy all the more and I believe the public is more interested in economic issues than they are about what's going on overseas.

I'm not sure that you're going to be able to find the whole works-in-a-drawer Herb. We look at Obama and Clinton and say where is their foreign policy experience, we look at McCain and Condi and say what about economic issues.

Many Clinton backers have said that if Obama gets the nomination they won't vote for him and vice versa. Having Condi on the ticket would appear to be a positive either way. And think about it, if anything happens to McCain, Condi has the experience to step in on day one.

You may have a point, nohil-billy. I think lots of women of the Hillary cult will be voting for McCain anyway because they have grown to hate Obama because he's keeping Hillary from getting her "deserved shot at running for President in the general". Also, Bill and Hillary have already told the public that McCain and Hillary are qualified to be Commander in Chief and Obama isn't plus only McCain and her are patriotic and Obama isn't. This sends the message that McCain is the more worthy candidate for Democrats to vote for as opposed to Obama and if McCain wins, Hillary can run in 4 years and not have to wait for 8 years as would be the case if Obama wins. Having Condi on the ticket will solidify more women to vote for McCain. I still doubt that it would bring many blacks to vote for McCain.
