The Group Media Matters: Hillary Hit Man Got Don Imus
Do you think something is fishy about the Don Imus affair? Why was the boom lowered on him at this time? The answer may have something to do with his main accuser, the Media Matters group, which is emerging as a front organization for Senator Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and has extensive ties to the national Democratic Party. In firing Imus, NBC News and CBS got rid of one of Hillary’s major political enemies in the media. see aim.org thread below!

I watched Bernard Goldberg on The O'Reilly Factor last night and I thought he explained it quite thoroughly. The loony left are not satisfied with getting their point of view across, they demand that theirs is the only point of view that is aired. Their dislike of FNC isn't that they lean conservative but that they will put both a conservative and a liberal on at the same time to get both views.
Years back, it was taboo in advertising to show your competitors product or mention your competitors name during your own commercial. It later proved successful to compare yours to theirs and then point out why yours was better (Bud Light/Miller Lite, Pepcid/Tums, Coke/Pepsi). The democrats can't afford this because in head to head debate they come across as the babbling idiots that they are.
I always identified Imus as a liberal or, at best, a-political with liberal leanings. Same with Bernard Goldberg and Dennis Miller. The liberals eventually drove Miller and Goldberg to the conservative side where they have the freedom to speak their mind, negative or positive, about either party. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see Imus come back, in the form of a conservative or libertarian talk show host, and make a fortune exposing the liberal democrats for what they are.

Great take and I agree 100%. I'd love to have Imus back on ourside bringing down the broom flyer. He always hated her anyway, that's the thesis behind why he's gone!
At one time that would be considered a dirty trick Herb, now it's considered the status quo by the far left. Watch for guys like Tucker "Baby Huey" Carlson and others to follow suit when they realize how limited freedom of speech can be when defined by MoveOn.org, George Soros and the rest of the far left loons. What's Tucker Carlson doing on MSNBC anyways?

Of course it would. Conservatives are held to a higher standard. The democrats won't debate on FNC because they insist that they lean conservative, but they have no problem with MSNBC and the likes of Kieth Oberman and his biased liberal agenda. The democrats are hypocrites and they aren't ashamed of it.
It's interesting that there is going to be a GOP candidates for president debate on May 3 on MSNBC. They're not afraid to debate on an obviously liberal network.
The GOP really has no choice. FNC may continually lead cable news networks in the ratings, but the other cable news channels along with broadcast channels collectively kick their butts in total viewership. If the Republicans want any exposure they have to go where the exposure is. Remember, only a small percentage of the poplation even gets FNC, which makes their ratings coups nothing short of incredible.
Funny that when Hollywood and the music industry produce a steady stream of mind and ear pollution, they contend that they do so because there's a market for it. Yet this one successful medium, FNC, whose substance and format are obviously craved by many, is largely ignored in spite of it's success.
The democrats wish that FNC would simply go away just as they wish conservative talk radio would go away. I think they call it "The Fairness in Broadcasting Act." When the Nazis did this, we called it propaganda.
AIM Report: How Hillary's Hit Man Got Imus - May A

It is highly ironic, however, that Olbermann, who smears people by labeling them as "The Worst" in the world on a nightly basis, should stay on the air in the wake of the Imus firing. Glenn Thrush of Newsday wrote a revealing September 7, 2006, article about the relationship between Senator Clinton and David Brock, the former conservative who runs Media Matters. Calling it the "Clinton-Brock alliance," Thrush revealed that Hillary "advised Brock on creating the group" and "chats with him occasionally and thinks he provides a valuable service…" Thrush added, "For her part, Clinton's extended family of contributors, consultants and friends has played a pivotal role in helping Media Matters grow from a $3.5 million start-up in 2004 to its current $8.5 million budget."
