I can think of one good thing

By the time 2112 is over, Democrats will be reduced to minor party status and this will make room for a new major party to emerge. BUT, I think that will happen as early as 2008 if Dems are dumb enough to put her on our ballots.

Yes you do, but if Republicans don't get back to core values and get their acts together they are no better than the Democrats. Think about it, they took over Congress, what has happened that is positive? All they do is investigate each other. Actually that is good because they can't pass any legislation that takes our freedom away and our money. SCR*EW all Liberals.

I object to Hillary primarily because she voted to give the President the right to attack Iraq, who had nothing to do with 9/11. And, she was practically obsequious with her Republican collegues. She voted to authorize the count in the 2004 election. She's really just a step away from Joe Lieberman.

I didn't say much of that. This thread isn't about what I didn't like. It is about what I do like about her. Of course a list of what I like is going to sound positive.

In reality he did not have to have that Vote since the US was already at War with Iraq. Desert Storm Never ENDED.

What good about Hillary? NOTHING.. She is ANTI AMERICAN THROUGH AND THROUGH!

Al Bore, our National Jester

Allow me to step aside from our National Fishwife and husband National Pervert to delve into Al Bore, our new National Jester.
My life evolved around the Heaven and Earth as my father was an Astronomer, founded one of our larger Astronomical Societies, wrote college text on Engineering, ground lens for our Planetariums, blah blah blah.
Here's the skinny for Al--(anyone can research the sun folks) When the sun's helium burns out which it has been doing for billions of years, it will envelope all the inner solar system out to Mars. These planets will begin to float out in space as gravity will no longer exist. Or, to be more succinct, we will all be frozen to death mit no sunshinny. If the Jester gets his profiterring way of disturbing this event too soon under some nin-com-poop guise of global warming, we might get to leave our ancestors no gravity a lot sooner. Might be good, might be bad. Would it be possible to send Al and his ship of fools out now so we can see how it works.

Some rebuttals

So, I'm hearing some things over and over on this board, and they're nothing but the same lies that Republicans tell over and over.

Bush Did Something About 9/11, but Clinton Never Did Anything About Oklahoma City and The 1st World Trade Center Attack

The guy who did the 1993 WTC attack is in jail. It was the 1st we'd ever heard of Al Qaeda (in fact, the name "Al Qaeda" was coined by the FBI during this trial), and Clinton shifted the FBI's focus to terrorism. No more terrorist attacks happened on US soil until the Republicans killed women, children and government employees in Oklahoma City.

Terry Nichols was arrested. Timothy McVeigh was arrested and ultimately sentenced to death.

Where's Osama?

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Our war in Iraq has increased terrorist activity worldwide, and against key US allies. And, we still don't have Osama.

The Argument that Clinton Ruined the Military
We stand now at an all time low for readiness and preparation. Military recruiting has dropped steadily since March 2003, when the war in Iraq began. Conditions for injured soldiers are worse than ever, even if you ignore the Walter Reed scandal. The Bush administration has dropped death benefits and benefits for injured soldiers, while increasing the length of a deployment, and implementing the backdoor draft. Many generals say that we can't effectively respond to attacks against us. When Katrina hit, the National Guard could not respond because it was deployed to Iraq.

This is Bush's fault. This is because of the voluntary war in Iraq. Clinton did not do this.

Bush Didn't Ruin the Economy, Clinton or 9/11 Did
In 2000, I saw a correction coming. It was obvious the bubble wouldn't last. We'd already spent our money buying new computers for Y2K, and we were not going to invest significantly in IT until those computers reached the end of their lifetime (usually 3-7 years). Warehouses were stocked full, but people were not buying.

The proper answer to this is to invest in Keynesian Economics. This is the idea that a government can spur the economy by spending money on capital projects, like the Hoover Dam, the Internet, or a new drive for Fuel Independence. Make a big project that requires a large number of semi-skilled and skilled workers. This puts money and the need for capital goods into the economy. Workers get trained, good get bought, the warehouses empty and companies need to fill them again, spurring more purchases.

It's similar to Supply-Side Economics, except that supply-side works best when the companies need to invest in infrastructure, but don't have the money and don't have stock in their warehouses. Look at 1980. We have a rotting infrastructure, new technology that could drive better business profits, but no money and no good in our warehouses. So, Reagan gave huge tax breaks, and the companies started spending on the critical issues. It worked, although I'll admit that I didn't understand it at the time (I was 8).

But, supply-side economics don't work when the companies are flush with cash and goods, but the purchasing populace is out of money. That's for keynesian economics. When you give tax breaks in this situation, all you're doing is rewarding the rich.

There Hasn't Been a Terrorist Attack Against the US Since 9/11

First of all, that's simply not true. This is a Republican lie. The anthrax in the mail was a terrorist attack. Anyone remember that?

Also, the Green Zone houses the US Embassy in Iraq. Embassies are native soil of the country that owns it. Remember when Clinton attacked China? But, we were bombing Bosnia. Right, we bombed the Chinese Embassy in Bosnia, which was Chinese soil. So, any attack on the Green Zone is an attack on US soil.

This isn't just some legal play on words. US soldiers are dying every day. More soldiers died in Iraq than all people in the WTC on 9/11 (and the death toll in Iraq is approaching the total death toll of 9/11).

Anyone who says that we haven't been attacked is discounting the troops. Anyone who tells me the troops are not American can go take a leap.

Clinton Destroyed American Values
Funny, I value hard work, a strong justice system, free enterprise with government protections, jobs, health, freedom of speech and religion, and the ability to live my life without undue government interference. Remember when Republicans did, too?

Now, Republicans are telling me that I'm immoral if I don't hate people. I have to hate gays, hate actors, hate reporters, hate attorneys, hate foreigners. Alberto Gonzales fired prosecutors for not following Republican lies, he was destroying a key American value, that no one is above the law. When Bush gave no-bid contracts to the companies of his buddies, he destroyed the involate concept of free enterprise. When he proposed to use my tax dollars to send rich kids to religious schools, well, I'm not sure if it technically breaks the establishment clause, but it certainly pisses me off.

Republicans like to tell us they're the "party of life". How many people dies in Iraq? How many children have no healthcare? How many more children are living in poverty?

It's time to tell the Republicans that Life Doesn't End At Birth

Bush Didn't Cause Katrina
Of course not. The only person saying that Bush talks to God is Bush himself. But, he cut funding for the Army Corpse of Engineers. Money that would have gone to fixing the levees. He put a #### in charge of FEMA. After Katrina hit, instead of doing something about it, he was off playing air guitar on stage with some country singer.

This is the problem with electing a government that doesn't believe in government. If you cut enough out of the budget for critical services, disasters happen. Cut the budget for federal hospitals, and our troops have to room with rats and roaches. Cut the funding for port security, and eventually someone's going to ship a nuclear bomb into the port of Los Angeles (where it could destroy the Nixon Library!!!!).

Democrats Always Go Negative
Okay...wait...who impeached a President over an affair? Who claimed that John McCain's adopted baby was actually his out of wedlock? Who claimed John Kerry, a decorated war veteran, was really just a whining little wimp? Who claimed that any request for oversight was done by a traitor? Who claimed that being against the war is being against America?

The Republicans, that's who

This concept that reporting on American deaths is somehow traitorous is just disgusting. Republicans think that the deaths of American service men and women are merely stats that shouldn't even be reported. That's about as anti-troops, anti-America as it gets.

Democrats have a plan for the US. Gore wanted to save Social Security by using the surplus as a "lockbox" that couldn't be touched. Kerry wanted to strengthen our military by holding talks with the leaders of other nations. We have a plan for Iraq. It's called the "Baker Hamilton Plan". Remember that? We have a plan for securing our nation. It's called "The 9/11 Commission's Recommendations". Remember those? This is all positive, leading our country out of the quagmire of these past 6 years.

Republicans have a plan. Call Democrats mean names until enough people believe it. I'll be laughing when the "Breck Girl" "Faggot" John Edwards hands y'all a defeat in 2008.

Drig23,

I didn't know anybody still believed in Keynesian economics. Demand economics does nothing to build capital. We need capital to build more factories which create more jobs and more consumer goods. Supply side economics has worked in this decade. Bush's tax cuts has resulted in the shortest recession in modern history.

iNTERDEPENDENT GLOBALIZATION

Drig: Whoa there young'un! The 18th Century blather is gone in this country. Join us in the Interdependent Globalization going on that you seem unaware of. We're living in a positive exciting Technological Age of Science. (all except Gore of course)

Soon our non-functioning representatives, constitution and judiciary will be replaced by scientific biosensors throughout the Universe.

Yesterday, my car told me to watch out for sleet (we will no longer need a misrepresenting weather man with such nanosensors at our fingertips.

Last night, I slept with my Latitude Communicator box checking my heart as I slept so that it could correct any problems from it no matter where I am in the world.

Today, in the right shops in Singapore, I can shop in store A, buy a shirt and by the time my car informs shop B that I'm on my way, they'll have just the right tie to match the shirt.

No more will we have to suffer through every geezer in public office being interviewed on TV to satisfy their own need of importance. Imagine no more Representatives cluttering up Washington trying to grab our votes and dollars through their transparent, antiquated "BREAD SERVICES".

We're standing on the edge of a technological revolution that will provide us with everything we need to defeat transnational terrorism in this so-called "long war". It won't be some secret government project, this REVOLUTION will be driven primarily by the private sector's response to the growing desire of average citizens for hyperconnected lives and to keep those who are not qualifed to handle the complexities of a parking ticket from holding positions of power that here-to-fore have only been used against us with ever more destruction to the American citizen.

Let's put our energy and hard earned dollars where the nanosensors are and a great REVOLUTION for the benefit of America and its citizens can move on, toss out the baggage that has reduced us to their level of using us to argue over whose ox is being gored the most. PAY ATTENTION!!!

A problem with Keynesian economics is its inefficiency. It appeals to people like Hillary that believe in big government. She believes that it is only through big government that the economy can be stimulated, but I believe it is only through the free market. Only businessment and consumers can determine what products and services are wanted and needed. When the government starts a big program to stimulate the economy, the money gets diverted to areas in which consumers might not prefer to spend their money. Because their money is drained in the form of taxes, that money doesn't get to go where businessmen and consumers would prefer it to go.
