Thumbs up Hillary Clinton: White people support me

By Kathy Kiely and Jill Lawrence Hillary Rodham Clinton vowed Wednesday to continue her quest for the Democratic nomination, arguing she would be the stronger nominee because she appeals to a wider coalition of voters — including whites who have not supported Barack Obama in recent contests. "I have a much broader base to build a winning [...]

Paul Begala told Donna Brazile on Lou Dobbs that Obama needed to "put the jam on the lower shelf where the little folk can reach it." He went further by saying that the Democratic party couldn't win with "Eggheads and African Americans," pointing out that that was Dukakis' base and he only won ten states.

Hillary Clinton knows he needs that white, blue collar vote to win. So as long as she can keep this nomination process about race, which it already is, she has a valid point that she's the more viable candidate.

It may be only "guilt by association," but the wrongness of Wright is taking it's toll.

"It may be only "guilt by association," but the wrongness of Wright is taking it's toll."

The exit polls from North Carolina and Indiana showed the Wright issue didn't have much influence on voters' choices.

Newt Gingrich said that the Republicans have gotten about as much mileage as they're going to get from the Wright issue. He said that if they run their campaign on that, they'll lose. He said they need to start running on the issues which is what I've been saying all along.

I still think Hillary is the weaker candidate because she will unify the Republican base if she were to run. Republicans hate her more than Obama and will turn out in droves to vote against her.

Regarding blue collar voters not voting for Obama, lots of them won't anyway since lots of them are racists, but I don't think many blue collar voters will be too keen to vote for McCain when they find out how much of a supporter of NAFTA he is.

African Americans and eggheads aren't the only ones that are going to vote for Obama, there's also a hell of alot of young people who are supporting him which Dukakis didn't have. People are ready for change and they see McCain as just being a third term for Bush.

She does have a much broader base, but I don't think that's what she meant.
