 Chris Dodd of Connecticut To Run For White House In 2008 [ WASHINGTON — Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd, a 30-year Capitol Hill veteran who once headed the national Democratic Party, pitched himself as a voice of experience and a new face in declaring his presidential candidacy Thursday on a radio and cable show. Normally, Dodd told MSNBC talk-show host Don Imus, 25 years in the Senate (preceded by six in the House) would "exclude you from even considering higher office. But I think people this time around believe experience matters." Dodd is the latest Democrat to join an expanding field. Outgoing Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich and former North Carolina senator John Edwards, the 2004 vice presidential nominee, are among those already running. Other possible contenders include New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry and New Mexico Gov.
