Smiley 5 Bill Clinton: Blacks Naturally Drawn to Obama Because He's Black

Quote:
Former President Bill Clinton said it is not wrong to note that African-Americans are drawn to Barack Obama because of identity politics, but black voters should support Hillary Clinton anyway.

Clinton said he doesn’t think race is an issue when it comes to either Democratic presidential candidates’ commitment to civil rights, but it’s obvious that people are drawn to others that look similar to them.

WiseOne's Comments, way to go, Bill, blame it on another man's skin color if nothing else can be done to help your nasty wife. Bill and Hillary Clinton are so full of sh*t it staggers the imagination! Just think if a Republican would've said that!!!

If a Republican had said that he would have been crucified, but we're used to that double standard.

With that said, I must agree with ole Slick that people are attracted to people who look like themselves. Where he and Hillary cross the line is when they point out that "he's not one of us." or "we didn't win because they stick together." They prey on peoples racial fears rather than trying to win on Hillary's positive attributes. (If she's got any)

The Clinton's made the mistake of taking the black vote for granted and now have to make up for it with fear mongering. I'm thinking they have a chance with all of the negative's coming out about Obama and it would be hard to blame them alone if Obama let's this slip through his fingers. I think he's as big a racist as they are.

I havn't seen any evidence of Obama being a racist. I think we have a case of guilt by association here. I'll give Obama the benefit of the doubt.

As far as Hillary still having a chance, I don't see how. Political analysts have pointed out that even if Hillary were to win all the remaining states and by relatively large margins, she would still come short on the pledged delegates. Even people in her campaign have admitted that. Their plan is to carry enough superdelegates to win the nomination, but I don't think that's going to happen. A new USA/Today poll shows that most Democrats will be upset if Obama wins the most pledged delegates, but Hillary wins the nomination with the superdelegates. In fact, a quarter of them said they will not vote for her in the general election if she gets the nomination in that way. Superdelegates realize this and know that a Hillary candidacy will go down in defeat and embitter so many Democrats that it may take a generation for the Democrat Party to repair itself.

I think the issue about Obama's pastor is big now, but I think it will fade as time goes on.

I agree with Herb, but I do not doubt that Hillary will use the super-delegates to win the day for her.

The damage to the Democratic party will be huge, but I can see the Clintons blaming everyone but themselves for the resultant mess.

While I am no fan of Obama, I think that John McCain in the presidency will only "keep business as usual"....tough choices this year!

Joining an Afro-centrist church where a pastor preaches racial hatred is more than guilt by association. Obama denied hearing that sermon about Hiroshima and Nagasaki yet he mentions it in his book, "Dreams From My Father" written way back in 1995. The Reverend Wright was also purposely excluded from Obama's announced run for the presidency in Springfield, Il. because of his explosive rhetoric which was acknowledged by Obama then.

The Reverend Wright also gave Louis Farrakhan a "Lifetime Achievement Award." You remember Louie! He's the one who visited Moamar Qaddafi, who at the time was the leading exporter of international terrorism. It's also been said that Obama embraced the Nation of Islam while in college.

He was also reported to have had an association with William Ayers who was with the weatherman domestic terrorist group back in the 70's.

If somebody called you a queer because you unknowingly ducked into a gay bar to get a drink and quench your thirst on a hot summers day, I'd say you were a victim of guilt by association. If you hung around a couple of hours to watch the "All Nude Male Dancers," I'm thinking something entirely different.

We all have aquaintances in which we don't agree fully with them. My wife had a racist friend who was opposed to Obama because he's black. We can't expect all our aquaintances and friends to agree with every point of view of ours.

Conservatives and Hillary supporters and Republicans are trying to milk this for all they can, but I think it'll become a minor issue before it's all over. The big issues will be health care, the war in Iraq and such.

Have you drawn the connection between the Reverend Wright and Michelle Obama's negative attitude about this country? I think I'd be a little bit nervous about somebody having that kind of influence on my wife.

Obama not only refused to distance himself from this man, but threw his grandmother under the bus while giving reasons why he wouldn't. Obama needed to cut the ties with his anti-American preacher, instead he gave us a sermon on racism.

I thought Obama gave an excellent response to the Pastor propaganda. I grew up with the Catholic Father Coughlin who lived 3 blocks from me. You can read "The Fine Art of Propaganda" about Coughlin from the Shrine of the LIttle Flower in the same way we hear about Wright. To be honest many things Wright said I know to be true and Obama told the facts as I have come to know them about mankind within their own race discussions, other stuff Just propaganda and the preachers desire to outdo himself and keep his flock in the cauldron and I'm sorry no hil didn't hear Michelle speak Outstanding.

If they redo Michigan, I'm going to do a no hil and vote for Obama. I had the flu the day they voted here so I'd be eligible to vote. I can't see myself voting for any Democrat as a genuine article. I'm not a Socialist and I'm aware they all are. McCain is a tough pill to swollow fersure. If it's between McCain and Obama, I'll vote Independent, but if it's Hillary, I'll have to go McCain.

No Hil: I understood Michelle's attitude about this country. I've had it myself until I realized, it was the citizens who have allowed this mess to fester. It's the "enemy is us" too many don't see. About 20 years ago 60 minutes was interviewing an old black gentlemen in Georgia selling his vegetables. He wiped each one carefully while being interviewed. You could tell by his words he was educated. The inteviewer said someing about Justice. The black man looked up and said "I don't know what you're speaking about. I'm 84 years old and I've never seen justice". My life has told me the gentlemen was right. I'm sorry he never realized he wasn't alone.

I actually agree with some of what Wright said. Our bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima was nothing but an act of terrorism. Anytime you kill innocent civilians in order to promote terrorism among the enemy, you are engaging in terrorism. Saying that does not make Wright anti-American. He is just saying he is against certain American policy. Our policy in the Middle East does promote blowback against American citizens. That's not to justify the actions of Osama bin Laden, but if we don't realize what led him to attack America, we fail to correct our foreign policy and invite future terrorist attacks against American citizens.

I'm tired of the foreign policy that we've had for the past 7 years, that's why I plan to vote for Obama over McCain. I told my Iranian wife that I would vote for McCain over Hillary and she blew her top. She told me that if McCain bombs Iran, I'll be partly responsible for the loss of life of her countrymen. I thought about it awhile and came to agree with her. She and I both voted for Obama in the Texas primary and the Texas caucus so she's no Hillary fan either, but she made a deal with me. If Hillary should somehow steal the nomination, she said she won't vote for Hillary if I don't vote for McCain. So under the circumstances of such a horrible matchup, I'll vote Libertarian as I usually do.
