Unhappy Hillary Clinton & John McCain, Front-Runners - 6 Feb 08

Looks as if Hillary did, indeed, pull off California. Here are the delegate counts as of 6 Feb 08:

Democrats:
Hillary Clinton: 825
Barack Obama: 732

Republicans:
John McCain: 615
Mitt Romney: 268
Mike Huckabee: 169

Sigh, looks as if there is no stopping Hillary Rotten Clinton and rest assured McCain will be the Republican nominee in the end.

The Obama campaign has a different spin on last night's primaries. They show that Obama got 845 vote to Hillary's 836. According to Obama's campaign, that totals up to a total of 908 total delegates for Obama to Hillary's 884.

Dick Morris points out how within the next couple of weeks, there are a slew of small states coming up that have a total population equaling California. He said Obama should win most of those. He said that with the exception of Arkansas and Oklahoma and Tennesee which borders Arkansas, Hillary wasn't able to win any heatland states. He asks whether Hillary can win the nomination if she can only carry California and the Northeast coast.

All these states coming up in the next couple of weeks are expected to go to Obama. That could really create a great psychological advantage going into Texas and Ohio. Lots of people have a follow the crowd mentality. Obama will be perceived as the front runner by lots of Texas and Ohio voters and lots of them will fall in line and also vote for Obama. Obama also needs to do something to increase his appeal among Hispanics but without saying anything that will turn whites away from him.
