A Conservative Democrat Predicts Edwards To Get Nomination

A conservative Democrat, Lisa Fabrizio, has written in "The American Spectator" that she believes Democrats concerned about Hillary's chances will switch over to Pretty Boy John. She believes the liberal press will keep hounding her in order to knock her out of the race. They will probably go with Edwards because he is a white Southern male. White southern males seem to be the only types of Democrats who have any chance against Republicans. Carter and Clinton, both Southern males are the only two Democrat presidents to be elected since the Great Society program which has ruined the name "liberal". Carter and Clinton were elected because they were from the South and people tend to think of Southern Democrats as being conservative even though Carter, Clinton, and Edwards aren't.

The big question if Edwards gets the nomination, will he offer the vice-presidential position to Hillary and if so, will she accept it? If Edwards cares anything about his life, he won't pick her. With Hillary being a heartbeat away from the presidency, Edwards could become another name added to that Clinton death list.

This is an interesting theory, but Edwards seems like such a lightweight. To me he doesn't look, sound or act like a president (and that's even before you get to his ideas and proposals). His wussiness was put into stark relief in his debate with Dick Cheney. Oh, my....what farce that was. He looked like a high school debater next to Cheney.

I think you have to look way down the list of Democrat candidates to the guys polling in single digits before you find an adult with any gravitas. If you're a liberal, I don't know why you wouldn't support Dodd or Biden over the other clowns.

Even Edwards doesn't think he'll win

I agree with Corvair, Edwards is not Presidential. I think it's obvious that he's now using his campaign to help Obama. Obama needs to be the statesman. If he throws mud, he loses his image. So, Edwards throws the mud. Hillary has to respond to it, putting the two of them in a public, ugly fight. Obama comes away looking squeaky clean. But, as a candidate that has a couple interesting ideas but not much in the way of experience or credibility, Edwards doesn't have much chance to win, even without looking like a jerk by attacking Hillary.
