| | Rudy Up 25 Points Over John McCain (3.5.2007) [ WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential hopeful Rudolph Giuliani, virtually tied with John McCain in a January poll, held a 25-point lead over the Arizona senator in a Newsweek magazine survey released on Saturday.
Among registered Republicans, 59 percent said they backed the former New York City mayor and 34 percent said they favored McCain, who announced on Wednesday he would seek the presidency in 2008, Newsweek said. ]
Read More Here >> Reuters WiseOne's Comments I think this proves that the entire country is becoming FAR more liberal, in general, that I previously suspected. Giuliani is a Republican, but FAR from the right to be sure. Or is it that McCain looks like he has a temper problem to most? --Just MHO

In reply to your comment, I don't think the country is becoming more liberal at all. Rudy has proved himself a bona fide leader with the way he handled the aftermath of 9/11. He also did a miraculous job cleaning up New York City, and when he handed the huge check back to the Saudi prince after he intimated that we were part of the problem that caused 9/11, he showed he had scruples and conviction. Rudy deserves the success he has achieved to this point.
I'm a Newt fan and as a recent poll of republican primary voters showed, Newt was the clear favorite with 41% of the vote. I believe that this number might have been significantly higher had he actually been in the race.
While I don't agree with Rudy's stands on gay rights and abortion, this is not the hill I choose to die on. I'll vote party first before my own interest. I also believe that Newt is laying back to make sure the republicans have it. He's a party guy and will only jump in if the party needs him to.
It would be assinine for conservatives to stay home because they don't agree with a couple of Rudy's positions and hand the presidency to someone with the same positions and worse ideals.
Is this country getting more liberal? I don't think so. Just wiser! |

| | nohil-billy (perfect name BTW), I agree he is a true leader and should be commended to the utmost degree. He DID clean up NYC...I know for a fact because I used to go into the Bronx, NY once a week for years, no doubt he is skilled. He DOES deserve credit for that, you are correct. Quote: |

| Agreed, and if it comes down to Hillary Clinton v. Rudy Giuliani, I will certainly vote for Rudy, and I DO vote every time...I despise apathy to the degree that most cannot fathom. I like ANY opinion as long as they are involved and CARE. Quote: |

| I pray they DO get wiser, hopefully we'll help in that mission...BUT, I think the country is indeed getting more liberal each day either way. I appreciate your opinion and your participation is what I respect deeply.

Do you suppose that the Clintonista Hit Machine will be running footage in South Carolina? I do |

| | | Remember I love Pink? Jennifer was my room mate and long time friend. She had told me about your blog site and I wasn't interested that much in joining. I've visited it a number of times. Sadly, Jennifer was hit by a bus and passed away I guess it wold have been on Sunday in Phuket while on a work related assignment. I've read many of her comments, and many of your responses. You seem like a very good group with a few minor exceptions. Oz strikes me as a blow hard. So please don't bother responding to me as I found you to be as ignorant and tastless as Jennifer said. So, I don't know if I'll be on as much as she was, but I'll check in from time to time. We were friends, but didn't share the same political thinking. She was more of a 60's dreamer and still held on to her beliefs I like to think of myself as more in touch with the economics of how thing run and why the Government destroys everything it gets involved with including the Military. I will truly miss Jennifer, Dana |

| | | Well, I doubt it, plus on a Hillary forum hearts really don't fit in very well as Hillary obviously has no heart or soul IMHO. I have a couple hearts on here, but they kind of "don't fit" in discussions about Hillary Rodham Clinton.

| | | nohillbilly, I hope if Rudy is the nominee, the religious right don't behave the way they did here with Dolly Madison McKenna. She was pro-choice and told the religious right that this is not a church, it's a political party. For that, they stayed home and allowed Ken Bentsen to win the Congressional race. Ken is a flaming liberal. | |
