I find it rather conspicuous, that Paulson and Bush demanded the $700 billion, stating that the econemy would collapts if the bill wasn't passed within 48 hours. Well, 48 hours has come and gone. The market did fall quite a bit. But it didn't crash.

Herb is right. They should just leave it alone, and it work itself out. If they wanted to do something unconstitutional, they should bail out the homeowners. (at least the ones who have a legitimate reason for going into foreclosure)

This administration is behaving in the same way they did in the runup to the war in Iraq. "It's an emergency! We have to act now!" Just like when Bush lied to us that Saddam Hussein posed a clear and present danger to us and we had to act fast with no time for more inspections and diplomacy or debate..
They're willing to put a debt on our grandchildren for the sake of big money interests who made bad investments. We have to do it now! No time for debate and to listen to your constituents back home.

The bailout proved what we have been saying Herb. That these two parties are so much alike, that you can't hardly tell the difference. I guess that's why they have to have to different colored people to run for president. ....Not being racist or anything, but you can't get anymore whiter than Mccain.
