| | | Bob Barr is Considering Running For President On the Libertarian Ticket Bob Barr said he is considering continuing the race that Ron Paul started, but as a Libertarian. The Libertarian Convention will be Memorial Day weekend in Denver. If the race isn't close in Texas, I'll probably vote Libertarian as I usually do. | | Remove This Ad By Registering. I was a Southern Democrat starting out, then a Reagan Democrat, then a Republican, and now (by default) still a Republican but also with some Libertarian leanings. Sounds like our 'travels in those circles' may not have us so 'different' after all... |

| | | When I was 16 in 1962, I used to visit this 80 year old man in his Airstream trailer. He showed me his nudist magazines and told me of his days working at the 101 Ranch and riding with Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders (probably lies). He was a staunch Republican and influenced me. Before, I had leaned to the Democrats as my Dad was a Democrat. Two years later, my Dad became a Republican. He was heavily influenced by Goldwater. I voted for Nixon in both 1968 and 1972, but I started feeling out of place in the Republican Party because of the way they seemed to be trying to push their moral values on the public. Not that I was real immoral, just that I was influenced by Milton Friedman's "Capitalism & Freedom". One night in 1976, a friend of mine who was a secretary at SMU had an economics professor at her house while I was visiting. He told me about his libertarian views and I said, "That's me!" I've voted Libertarian in every election since with the exception of 1984 when the Libertarian Party wasn't on the ballot in Texas. In that year, I was happy to vote for Reagan. I liked Reagan. I would have voted for him in 1980 also, but I couldn't resist voting Libertarian. I was torn that year between Reagan and the Libertarian.
Biographies are interesting. Anybody else want to share their biography? |

| | | I lived in a mobile home in Plano in 1973 and 1974.
I worked in the oil patch myself in West Texas from 1979 to 1982. I worked and lived in Midland and Odessa and even worked as a roustabout in Goldsmith, Texas. Glad to get away from that area! |

Probably the one I used to live in. I sold my trailer to a 19 year old sucker in 1974. I was glad to get rid of it. It seems like trailers are tornado magnets. A tornado also wiped the mobile home park that I used to live in in Tulsa, fortunately after I had move to Dallas. |
